Summer has arrived, and that means here at Alicia Weaver Design we are dreaming of exotic travel destinations (and escaping the South Florida heat!). We turned to our resident travel expert, Angelika, to share some of her favorite locations for inspiration.
Portofino
The first would have to be Portofino, Italy. It’s quaint and charming with a beautiful little marina surrounded by cafes and restaurants. My favorite hotel is the Splendido - it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea with the most spectacular view. The ultimate summer escape.
Harbour Island
Harbour Island is another favorite - the simplicity of the little town is so charming. It also has one of the most spectacular beaches in the world.
Chicago
My all-time favorite city is Chicago. Architecturally, it’s one of the most beautiful cities in America. The summer, of course, is the best time to visit. They have great shopping, wonderful restaurants and very friendly people. My favorite restaurant is RL restaurant, designed by Ralph Lauren. It has a great atmosphere and wonderful wine bar.
Milan
When it comes to my favorite shopping, there is no other place like Milan in the world. With street after street of high fashion designers, it’s an incredible destination for shopping, people watching and of course, delicious food!
